FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Kappa Kappa Psi?
We are an honorary band fraternity. Our brothers are chosen from two sources - College of Music music majors and the Golden Buffalo Marching Band. We primarily serve our band and the CU Boulder community by providing support and service for University Bands and maintaining a close relationship with our Director of Bands, Dr. Donald McKinney, and our chapter sponsor, Dr. Matthew Dockendorf.
How is your organization different from other fraternities?
Because we're a service fraternity and not a social fraternity, we don't have a house on campus or belong to the IFC or NPC. We do not party or drink as a fraternity and never haze our members. Additionally, we are co-ed, which means you can join regardless of your sex or gender identity.
Why should I join Kappa?
There are so many reasons to join Kappa. If you love your University of Colorado Bands and want to help them succeed, want to be a part of a community of music-lovers, or want more opportunities to play your instrument, this is the right organization for you!
